It really amazes me how many people think someone who is pansexual is, and I quote, 'just bi and trying to sound cool'. Because they think 'ability to be sexually attracted to someone without sexual characteristics' means 'will mate with dolls'.

And then, in the case of one person, sent me a message called, and I quote, 'for a pervert f u c k f a c e'. After I said I was not sexually attracted to tiny beings composed of plastic.

Wha...? I don't even know how to respond to that! That's terrible! That's just, eh... Sadly, it seems to be common react to the idea of being pan and even bi still. (Like people saying they will have to "choose" one way or another sooner or later...)

I hope they get idea or just shut their mouths of such terrible things to say to someone.

It was really aggressive, insulting the members, swearing at them, calling them immature assholes and calling their beliefs bullshit and stuff like that. I gave them a warning and told them the "angry alter" stuff was lovely but they were still headed for a ban if it didn't stop. Then your report showed up.

In all their posts, I unfortunately couldn't call them out on their swearing, because their swearing all fell within what Shiro deems oh-it's-not-even-swearing-these-days and therefore wasn't filtered. Things like bullcrap and asshole are fine, apparently.

Their posts were never approved so I'm not sure if they ever got to see whether the filter affected them.

I've seen people raging on the pansexual label and claiming that bisexual refers to all genders, not just two. It actually made me quite angry to read, because they were claiming the language used had evolved, that "bi" in bisexual didn't mean it only referred to two. With all that people go through with bi erasure, you'd think they'd understand that when the rest of the world sees "bisexual" as men and women, calling pansexuals bisexual is invalidating and erasing their sexual identity.

It's mysterious how many people don't get pansexual. Either thinking it's the same as bisexual, or thinking it means *pan*sexual, you're into *everything*. I just, fah. *hands up, fuck this shit*

That's not even right from a linguistic perspective. Pan means 'across' doesn't it, not 'all'? Wouldn't 'all' be 'omni-'?

Apparently pansexual and omnisexual are identical, if you go by what the words mean, but it's been my experience that people tend to use omnisexual if they're genuinely *all*sexual.

Looks like they're the same things but from different languages (greek vs latin).
