For a few days, I was very, very happy. An anthropology student ended up on the Werelist and was going to find some people, get consent, and do some research on the therian community from a relativistic perspective. I like him (think xe’s a he); he wasn’t going the shock exploitive route; he was going to have his research, if it was published, be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Then, after further thought, he decided it would probably be a better idea if he didn’t do it after all. Fair enough, but I will say that I was very hopeful, and shall miss the opportunity.

I wonder what would have happened if the United States had given someplace like Nevada or Montana for the creation of Israel.

I'm also bummed that the anthropological study died so fast. I was really excited about someone coming in with an academic take. I hope they're willing to pick it back up at some point, or that someone else does a similar thing.

Sigh... that's really a shame. We could use some serious, peer-reviewed studies on us.

Could we convince xir maybe that it's needed? Why did xe not want to do it?

Oh yeah us too! We were really excited. We think an anthropological study would be so wonderful given how well the community could fit into the thought of anthropology, but then he backed down. We can understand given how hard it is to conduct and write first-hand research paper. We would ourselves if we had the time and backing given that we are getting a minor in anthropology, but its really hard. Its even harder to get the paper actually seen and shown beyond the professor of the class.
