Full body poison ivy plus a concussion plus a broken arm suck. And no, they weren't all at once.

I'll probably update this later with more information when I don't have a headache.

I attempted to ride a bike in the rain. Normally this would be fine and it wasn't raining heavily. Unfortunately, someone had, in an attempt to fix a pothole, put up a road plate covering the entire lane that stood up an inch off asphalt. I hit it and went flying. Next thing I knew people were standing over me and I was being loaded into an ambulance.

I'm mostly fine--got off lucky, really. The concussion is mostly healed a few days later though occasional brain fog and tiredness are concerning issues. I'm not sure when those will go away fully and it does give me anxiety. The arm is out of the sling though I still need to wear a splint due to a potential finger injury.

Can't go to work for at least a couple weeks and I don't know when brain fog late evenings will vanish. That's the concerning bit.

O_O yikes! Glad the passers-by got you help and you're up and about now. And yeah, lingering effects from a concussion should probably be looked into...

Thanks. Of late, the lingering effects have mostly disappeared. I get a headache next morning if I stay up really late, occasionally, and I get tired a little earlier than before.

my deepest sympathy. And curse that terrible plant (that fortunately doesn't grow in Europe), from my memory it grows in the most inconvenient places in the US and the consequences of falling in it are horrible.

Yeah, poison ivy loves forest edges. In my area you find those a lot at the edges of parking lots or yards. And because birds disperse the seeds it ends up pretty much everywhere.

when I was working in Virginia, it grew everywhere on the roadsides and I had to take care all the time when biking. And I found out about this plant and how bad it is purely accidentally, using iNturalist

Sheeesh. Like there's not enough to worry about when biking in this uh... part of the world. Hoping for your full recovery from ALL of that.

Ugh. Well, it could've been far worse than a concussion. Landing in poison ivy is something from a story though.

Oh, I didn't land in poison ivy. The poison ivy was from work, when I wandered into a patch when doing litter pickup. It'd just cleared up when I got the broken arm.
